CHANGING LIVES - ONE CLIENT AT A TIME...
My Philosophy

I’m a humanistic counsellor, and I help my clients by using a range of approaches and skills. I offer counselling to help you understand your problems and to help you unlock your inner resource so you can deal with them. The style and approach I use to support you, will depend on you, and what you feel comfortable with. As a counsellor, I can help you to explore your inner world but within the bounds of a safe and respectful relationship. Only you can decide on the scope of this exploration, and how much of it you want to share with me. I will do my best to help you find the strength and inner resource you’ll need as you embark on this challenging journey. As a result of this work, you will enjoy and benefit from learning and insights you can take with you through life - you will then be more equipped to live your life so you can achieve your full potential.

Issues I am experienced with:-
Depression, anxiety, loss, bereavement, relationship problems, body dysmorphia, weight loss, problems related to racism, both as the victim and the perpetrator, problems related to domestic violence, both as the perpetrator and the victim, sexual abuse, self harm, adoption and fostering issues, bullying, workplace stress.

Duration of Counselling Programme
I offer short term therapy usually (up to 8 sessions, at weekly intervals) for clients who have specific issues they want to address. If you find you want/need more sessions, then we would agree on this together, as your first group of sessions came to an end. 8 sessions is usually long enough for me to assess if you would benefit from being referred on for more specialist interventions, such as EMDR treatment, in the case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Where I Work
I offer counselling at two physical locations, on the Strand, in Central London and on the Barbican, in Central Plymouth, South Devon. You can also receive counselling and support by phone, by Skype and by email. (See ‘Where & How I Work’)
